Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera is a problem for the UFC bantamweight division.

The Ecuadorian 135-pounder is still just 30-years-old but has amassed a sizeable pedigree in the UFC cage, scoring impressive wins against the likes of Davey Grant and Frankie Edgar in recent outings which have gone towards an impressive 10-2 run in the division dating back to 2018.

Vera faces a sizeable test this weekend in the UFC’s main event from San Antonio, Texas, where he will take on the equally impressive Cory Sandhagen in a bout which will go a long way to determining who gets the next title bout at 135-pounds once champion Aljamain Sterling and the returning Henry Cejudo settle their business in May.

But if Vera can find the sort of late finish that he achieved against another former champion, Dominick Cruz, this past August, he might be well on his way to what would be his maiden title bout in the UFC in a career with the organisation which stretches back nine years.
