Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier are set to renew their long-running rivalry by coaching opposing teams on a reality television show, marking a third instalment of competition between the former UFC light heavyweight champions. The announcement comes as the pair prepare to film the new season of the ALF reality series in the coming months.

Jones and Cormier’s feud dates back to their time as top fighters in the UFC, where they clashed twice in high-profile bouts that helped define the light heavyweight division. Both men went on to heavyweight success before retiring from active competition, making the new coaching roles notable for extending their competitive narrative beyond the Octagon.

“I’m telling you, Real American Freestyle Wrestling is gonna see me and Jones at some point. I’m gonna kick his ass like you would never believe, because guess what? I still shoot takedowns, because I still train wrestlers every single day,” said Cormier, according to The Independent.

Jones previously coached on the reality format with Nate Diaz before leaving amid a brawl during filming, and his return to the show in a head-to-head role with Cormier underscores the promotional appeal of their longstanding rivalry.

Filming for the new season of the ALF series is expected to begin soon, with both coaches set to lead teams of mixed martial artists in competition, though dates and broadcast details have yet to be released.

Jones, 38, retired after vacating the UFC heavyweight title last year, while Cormier, 46, has not fought since 2020, yet both remain prominent figures in MMA through media and coaching engagements.
