The upcoming exhibition bout between Jake Paul and Gervonta “Tank” Davis is close to collapse, according to reports, after the world champion boxer was the subject of a civil lawsuit containing allegations of domestic violence against the world champion boxer.
The planned exhibition match between Jake Paul and Gervonta “Tank” Davis was scheduled for November 14, 2025, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, and was to mark the first major boxing event scored by artificial intelligence.
Davis holds the WBA lightweight title and was to enter the event undefeated at 30-0-1 in his professional career. The allegations against him relate to a civil lawsuit filed in Miami-Dade County on October 30, 2025, by his former girlfriend, accusing him of battery, kidnapping and emotional distress.
Paul’s promoter, Most Valuable Promotions, issued a statement saying: “Most Valuable Promotions immediately initiated an investigation upon learning of the civil lawsuit filed against Gervonta Davis in Miami-Dade County on October 30, 2025. At this time, we are gathering information and reviewing the details to ensure any decision we make is thoroughly vetted. We unequivocally condemn any form of violence and are committed to handling this matter with diligence and respect for all involved.” .
In addition, sources say that Netflix and Paul’s camp have begun exploring alternative opponents for Davis. One such name under consideration is Ryan Garcia.
Paul, a YouTuber-turned-boxer who has built high-profile crossover fights, was expected to face Davis in what would have been a major event despite criticism over the large weight disparity between the two fighters.
Should the Davis fight be cancelled, other reported replacement options include Nate Diaz and heavyweight MMA star Francis Ngannou, both of whom have reportedly already been approached by Paul’s team.
