The fight between two-time former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and social-media turned boxer Jake Paul is officially confirmed for December.

Following weeks of speculation, it was confirmed on Monday that the bout pitting the British heavyweight and the American social media star has been scheduled for December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami. It is to be streamed live online on Netflix and will take place across eight, three-minute rounds.

“This isn’t an AI simulation. This is Judgment Day,” said Paul in a statement releases following the fight’s confirmation.

“When I beat Anthony Joshua, every doubt disappears, and no-one can deny me the opportunity to fight for a world title. To all my haters, this is what you wanted.”

The bout will represent Joshua’s first trip to the ring following a September 2024 knockout loss to rival Daniel Dubois.

“I took some time out and I’m coming back with a mega show. It’s a big opportunity for me,” said Joshua of the bout. “Whether you like it or not, I’m here to do massive numbers, have big fights and break every record whilst keeping cool, calm and collected.

“Mark my words, you’ll see a lot more fighters take these opportunities in the future. I’m about to break the internet over Jake Paul’s face.”

Paul had been scheduled to face the undefeated world champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis this month but the bout was cancelled amid allegations of domestic violence against the US boxer. Joshua stands 13 inches taller than Davis and 100+ pounds heavier.
