Oleksandr Usyk believes Anthony Joshua would stop Tyson Fury inside six rounds if the long-discussed all-British heavyweight fight takes place, while the undisputed heavyweight champion also said he has entered the “last dance” of his career.

Speaking to All Out Fighting, Usyk also defended former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, describing him as a dangerous opponent despite recent questions over his standing among the division’s leading heavyweights. The Ukrainian, who has held every major heavyweight title after previously becoming the undisputed cruiserweight champion, said his mentality has remained unchanged throughout his career.

“For me I’m every time underdog,” said Usyk. Discussing the final stage of his career, he added: “I have last dance.” Asked whether defeating Wilder would enhance his legacy, Usyk said: “I’m not boxing for glory. For me, it’s just my life.”

Usyk also praised Wilder’s achievements, saying: “Listen, this is a man who last 10 years it’s top top fighter, world champion. Yeah. It’s dangerous guy,” said Usyk. Turning to a potential fight between Joshua and Fury, he predicted: “AJ boom. Right hands. Knock them out. Six rounds because AJ my brother,” said Usyk.

Joshua has twice been beaten by Usyk in world heavyweight title fights, but the Ukrainian said he respects the former unified champion’s efforts to improve following those defeats. A bout between Joshua and Fury has long been discussed but has yet to be finalised.

Usyk remains the undisputed heavyweight champion and indicated his focus is on the closing stage of his boxing career rather than legacy, saying his achievements have come as a result of his work rather than a pursuit of accolades.
